Unscripted: IRT Staff Q&A
Meet Jessie Streeval, Gift Shop Manager and Customer Service Representative!
How long have you worked at the IRT?
In total, 4 years.
What does a typical day look like for you? What do you enjoy most about working in your department?
We arrive and do opening procedures for the Ticket Office. After that, we run any mail we have accumulated (from printing tickets the previous day) upstairs to mail out and then drop the end-of-day paperwork off downstairs. We then unlock the doors for both lobbies. During normal hours, once 11 AM hits, we log into our phones and assist with ticket and subscription needs.
My favorite thing about my department is that all of my coworkers have become dear friends. I love the people I work with, and that makes my job more fun and easy.
Do you have a favorite show you’ve seen at the IRT?
The Mystery of Irma Vep! Rob Johansen had my sides splitting!
Favorite Indy restaurant, place to visit, or thing to do?
My favorite thing to do downtown is comic conventions! My favorite is Gen Con because the customer service reps get to hang out right after work and enjoy some gaming together!
What’s one helpful tip you’d offer someone coming to the IRT for the first time?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions! We are here to help!
The IRT produces top-quality, professional theatre that engages, surprises, challenges and entertains people throughout their lifetimes, helping to build a vital and vibrant community.
