While Mickey Rowe has captured national attention as the first American autistic actor to play the role of Christopher Boone in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, there is another kind of first taking place on the OneAmerica Mainstage that many theater-goers might not realize. This “first” goes by the name of:
David Alan Anderson.
Curious to know what these four have in common? They have all been recognized as Lunt-Fontanne Fellows.
Being named a Fellow is one of the highest honors bestowed upon regional actors who stand out among their peers as being the best in the field, and this marks an extremely rare occasion that four fellows share the same stage.
Together the foursome commands attention from the audience in their various roles, who gracefully piece together Christopher’s journey. Their own journeys, however, are what earned them a spot as a coveted Lunt-Fontanne Fellow.
Anderson, Macy and Neal received their equity cards from and were nominated by the Indiana Repertory Theatre, while Ledo received her equity card from Steppenwolf Theatre, and was nominated by Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.
Anderson is known for his recent roles in Fences and Looking Over The President’s Shoulder; Macy is remembered for her role in On Golden Pond and Good People; while Neal is known for his recent roles in To Kill A Mockingbird and Dial “M” for Murder.
Alan and Macy started their career at the IRT in 1990, while Neal celebrates his 18th season.
Audiences might remember Ledo from her recent appearance in Boeing Boeing as the hilarious and heart-warming housekeeper, Berthe.
Join the IRT in celebrating the tremendous talent on stage and be sure to catch these four during the last two weeks of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, through October 14.
