![]() Rob Johansen, a long-time local favorite and IRT actor, answered a few questions for us about his #IRTCarol story and holiday traditions! Read on to learn just how A Christmas Carol has influenced his life in Indy. Name and Roles: Rob Johansen - Bob Cratchit, Postboy, Topper What is your favorite thing about A Christmas Carol? I decided to make Indy my home after the first time I got to play Bob Cratchit; at that time I was single and missed my family so much. And, now, I get to play the Cratchits with my wife, Jen Johansen. I literally watched my Indy life develop over the years I have done A Christmas Carol. Also, I love getting to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season with a whole city! How many seasons have you been involved with A Christmas Carol at the IRT? This is my "Baker's Dozen" A Christmas Carol - number thirteen! Do you have any favorite winter holiday traditions? Two favorite traditions: Jen and I go into a random grocery or department store and decide it’s where we are shopping for each other's stocking stuff. We set our timers for 25 minutes and tear around the store, buying gifts and candies for each other...and WE CAN’T LET THE OTHER PERSON SEE US!!! It's a little stupid, but great fun! Also, my family back east used to light luminaries on a bridge over the Delaware River in a small rural town. From the houses it looked like a line of light hanging in the day. We did it on Christmas Eve while most folks were in church, and when they came out everyone would turn their lights out and drive across the bridge oohing and ahhing. What's Your Carol Story?
