![]() The IRT makes accessibility a priority, and innovations in recent years have made it easier for patrons with a variety of needs to enjoy the theatre. If you or someone you attend with needs a particular accommodation, review the information below to find out how we can help. And remember, while never required, providing IRT staff with notice of a particular accommodation request will help ensure we are ready to assist you upon arrival at the theatre. Consider letting us know if you have any requests when purchasing your tickets or packages! FOR PATRONS WHO ARE BLIND or HAVE LOW VISION Audio Described performances are scheduled for all Mainstage and Upperstage theatre productions. Large Print Programs are available from ushers. FOR PATRONS WHO ARE DEAF or HARD OF HEARING Assistive Listening Devices are available for every performance on the Mainstage and Upperstage theatres, allowing those with T-Coil enabled hearing aids and implants to use their own equipment to better hear our productions. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is offered for select Mainstage and Upperstage theatre performances. Patrons wishing to use this service should request seats in the interpretation zone for the best view of the interpreters. FOR PATRONS WITH MOBILITY CONCERNS Accessible seating is available in our Cabaret, Mainstage and Upperstage performance spaces. Accessible Seating locations—marked with the international accessibility symbol on our seating charts—are versatile to suit your needs: spacious areas for wheelchairs and mobility devices as well as armless chairs, all without the use of a single stair. The historic Indiana Theatre building has been retrofitted with many additional mobility amenities, including an ADA-compliant ramp, accessible restrooms on every floor, and spacious elevators. OTHER ACCESSIBILITY ACCOMMODATIONS AVAILABLE Service animals are welcome in our performance spaces. Chairs without armrests, or chairs with armrests that lift up are available for patrons who may need extra room. For sensory sensitive individuals, we list triggers (fog, strobe, gunshot, etc.) on our website and in our lobbies. ADDITIONAL DETAILS about our accessibility options, including upcoming dates for Audio Described and ASL interpreted performances, can be found on our website: www.irtlive.com/your-visit/accessibility.
